In the new video, VanderWaal sits in front of the camera while wearing a long red dress over a white T-shirt. The singer strums an acoustic guitar. For a little over one minute, she performs “Home,” showing off a husky voice on the folksy track.
“Gotta get back to my cursive roots every now and then,” VanderWaal wrote to caption the video. “Cursive” is a way of describing a type of singing that has become popular in recent years, in which singers stretch vowel sounds.
This new performance from VanderWaal is similar to what she did on her season of AGT, as she strummed her ukulele and performed original songs. Since then, the singer has released two EPs and an album called Just the Beginning.
