‘AGT’ Wildcards Announced And Fans Are Disappointed With One Of Them

Finally the moment all America’s Got Talent fans have been waiting for….the wildcards were just announced! Previously eliminated acts have the opportunity to come back for a chance at redemption. But, this years wildcard picks have raised more questions than anything else. Some think the choices are a bit unfair.

‘AGT’ Week 1 Semifinals Lineup Includes Two Wildcard Picks

The lineup for week one of the ‘AGT’ semifinals will feature the following performers.

Aerialist Alan Silva
Singer Archie Williams
Poet Brandon Leake
Singing duo Broken Roots
Dance group Dance Town Family – Wildcard
Singing duo Double Dragon
Drummer Malik DOPE
Singer Roberta Battaglia
Singer Shakira McGrath
Diabolo duo Spyros Bros
Singer Thomas Day – Wildcard

Immediately when the lineup was announced, people flooded the comments because they had nothing but questions. “I don’t want to be rude, I think Thomas is a great singer! But this is unfair, he didn’t perform on QF and now he gets a spot in the Semis, so injustice for the contestants that didn’t make it!” said one person on Instagram. “HOW IS THOMAS DAY IN THE SHOW HE LITERALLY WITHDREW WEEKS AGO,” asked another. “AGT’ is worst in picking wildcards,” said another. You may previously remember singer Thomas Day withdrew from the competition because he was busy playing football this year. As the number seven kicker in the country, some felt it was plausible that Thomas gave up his spot in the competition. He was replaced by previously eliminated act Broken Roots.

He even charged fans for videos on Cameo to reveal the real reason why he opted out of the show, stating that it was in fact football. Imagine our surprise to see that Thomas has been brought back for one of the wildcards. Thomas also posted on his own personal Instagram to confirm he had gotten a wildcard spot. It’s all a bit odd since he is the one that withdrew from performing in the live shows in the first place but maybe he had a change of heart. The answer to all of these questions will probably be revealed during his package before his performance at the semifinals. Still, the concept of an act quitting and being allowed back is pretty interesting to wrap our brains around.

Where Is Ashley Marina?

After over 7,000 people voted on our wildcard poll, it was clear that you guys wanted Ashley Marina to be brought back for a chance to compete in the live shows. Ashley is missing from this lineup and we know that you guys are fuming. Simon Cowell made Ashley sing three times during the audition rounds and everyone was shocked when the young singer was cut during Judge Cuts. We assumed she would be brought back for the wildcard because she was one of the more memorable acts. But it looks like Dance Town family who dazzled the judges with their incredible ballroom skills scooped up that spot. We’re hoping Ashley gets her chance in the spotlight in a future season because she truly was great.
