Brian King Joseph Honors Late Rapper DMX After Being Featured on His Posthumous Album
On February 15, Brian excitedly posted about collaborating on the song “A Letter to My Son” on what was supposed to be DMX’s comeback album. At first, the only instrument featured in the song was the piano. The second DMX met Brian and heard his violin skills, he knew he needed him on the song. Usher is also featured on the track produced by Swizz Beatz.
“Working with @therealswizzz and @usher on this track to be part of the legendary DMX comeback album is a dream come true for me thank you DMX for putting real artists on, I can’t wait for y’all to hear it and the whole album it’s really going to blow your mind,” Brian wrote about the experience on Instagram.
After learning DMX passed away, Brian again took to social media, posting a tribute to the legendary artist. The 50-year-old rapper born Earl Simmons suffered a heart attack the week prior.
“This really hurts. This man was my family right here, always looking out for me,” Brian wrote. “Watch over me from heaven King. This world wasn’t good enough for you, but you blessed us all anyway. You gave me hope and inspiration when I had no where else to find it. You the realest one I’ve ever met in this game.”

When Brian took the stage, a voice-over of the late rapper played in the background as he played the violin. The performance ended with everyone throwing their hands up in an X motion.
“I miss you @dmx I know you’re looking down on us tonight,” Brian posted on his Instagram story.
Brian also got a shoutout in the comments section from his AGT co-star Makayla Phillips who called the performance “amazing.” AGT danger act Aaron Crow called the performance “awesome.” Brian continues to post his captivating music on YouTube including his “7 Rings” cover that now has over 2.2 million views.
