He Placed in Third on America’s Got Talent
This past year, Jourdan Blue took the America’s Got Talent stage, telling his story as a street performer making ends meet for his girlfriend, son, and himself. He even shared that he went down the wrong path in his teenage years, leading to him getting kicked out of school, got himself in trouble, and ended up on his own by 16.
In his audition, Blue sang “Breakeven” by The Script. After his audition, judges complimented the singer. They admitted that he has one of the best voices they had heard in the competition.
“I think you are somebody, maybe lost their way a little bit, but like you said through music has now found your way,” Simon Cowell said. “You have such a distinctive voice, you are so cool and you feed off the audience, they love you and how you made me feel just then was amazing.”
After speaking directly to Blue about how the America’s Got Talent stage changes lives, Howie Mandel hit his Golden Buzzer. This sent Blue through to the Quarterfinals, where he performed “Biblical” by Calum Scott. He then returned once again in the Semifinals where he sang “Stargazing” by Myles Smith.
During the Finals he sang “Golden” by HUNTR/X from the movie KPop Demon Hunters. In the Finale, he reprised his audition song with Danny O’Donoghue of The Script. He then finished the series in third place.
