‘AGT’ Season 18 Auditions Are Over, Live Shows Begin Next Week

America’s Got Talent Season 18 has wrapped up auditions and is looking forward to the live shows. However, fans will have to wait a little longer before they can cast a vote for their favorite acts, as live shows aren’t set to begin until next week.
AGT Auditions Are Over, What’s on This Week?
Last week, America’s Got Talent aired the final round of auditions for Season 18. The episode ended with a performance from Japanese dance crew Chibi Unity, who earned the group Golden Buzzer from the judges and host.
This week, the show will air a special episode called “Road to Lives.” A description of the episode reads, “As the auditions come to a close, host Terry Crews previews some of the most memorable acts of the season moving on to the live shows.”
The episode is set to air during AGT‘s typical time slot, at 8/7c on NBC. It sounds like this episode will tease some of the acts who made it through to the live shows. Since the show did away with the Judge Cuts, the process of sending acts through has become a little more mysterious.
This season features seven Golden Buzzer acts, all of whom will go straight through to the live shows. Who will join them? We’ll find out soon.

Live Shows Start Next Week
Season 18 live shows are set to kick off on Tuesday, August 22. The week’s performances will take place on Tuesday night, with a results show airing on Wednesday, August 23. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite acts overnight.
According to NBC, the live shows will feature a total of 55 performances over five weeks, with 11 acts performing each week. The Season 18 finale will air over two nights beginning Tuesday, September 26. After the acts perform and the fans vote, the winner will be announced on Wednesday, September 27.

What is the point of the golden buzzer, if live shows are second round anyway? Aren’t they supposed to have a few weeks to weed out some of the non-golden buzzer winners? If live shows are second round, the golden buzzer means nothing more than 3 yeses.
