‘AGT’ Golden Buzzer Act Chapel Hart Announces Grand Ole Opry Debut
America’s Got Talent Season 17 group Golden Buzzer recipients Chapel Hart made an exciting announcement on social media this week. The country trio will be making their Grand Ole Opry debut on August 20.
Chapel Hart to Make Grand Ole Opry Debut
On Wednesday, after their AGT audition aired, Chapel Hart had some incredible moments. Not only did Dolly Parton react to their original song “You Can Have Him Jolene,” but their album The Girls Are Back in Town topped the iTunes Country Album chart.
The group tweeted, “Ya know what would be the icing on this triple layer German chocolate cake of a day? If the @opry invited us to sing there!”
The iconic Nashville country music venue retweeted their message on Thursday night with a photo of a cake decorated with the message, “August 20th?” The account wrote, “Triply Layer?” with a checkmark emoji, adding, “Opry Debut August 20th?”
Chapel Hart responded to the photo by writing, “IS THIS REAL LIFE?!?! We graciously accept…as soon as we pick our jaws up off of the floor.”
The Group Reacted to the News on Instagram
Chapel Hart posted a video on Instagram Thursday reacting to the Grand Ole Opry’s invitation. As group member Danica Hart said, “Y’all, life is not real right now.” She shared the trio’s gratitude to the Opry, as well as all of their fans for the support.
During Tuesday night’s episode of AGT, the group performed “You Can Have Him Jolene,” earning a standing ovation from the judges. Simon Cowell said he wished he could hit the Golden Buzzer for them, but he already did so for Sarah James earlier in the season.
That’s when Cowell and the other judges, as well as host Terry Crews, collectively decided to hit the Golden Buzzer together to send Chapel Hart straight to the live shows. This is the second group Golden Buzzer in the show’s history.
