‘AGT’ Finalist Evie Clair Honors Newborn with Diana Ross Rendition

America’s Got Talent finalist Evie Clair has recently released a rendition of Diana Ross’ “If We Hold On Together.” The singer dedicates this single to her daughter, Billye Clair Thomas, who has just been welcomed to the world.
Evie Clair Drops “If We Hold On Together” Rendition
Last April 22, the AGT alum dropped her latest project, a cover of Diana Ross’ 1988 song hit. According to the musician, “If We Hold On Together” used to be the lullaby that her mom and dad sings for her. Hence, while her rendition is originally a tribute her baby, it is also a manifestation of her love for her parents.
“After having Billye, I can better imagine just how much they love me and how much my Heavenly Father loves me,” she wrote. “I want to share this song with my daughter in hopes that it will calm her heart when she needs it to, and remind her just how loved she is.”
Clair went on and stated that she recorded the song in hopes that people would feel the same. She concluded her message, telling her fans that they’re “not alone” and must not lose their way.
Weeks before she performed for the Finale of America’s Got Talent season 12, Clair’s father passed away due to colon cancer. Her appearance then was an emotional one as it became her way to honor him.
Fans Are Loving This New Release
Upon Clair’s release of “If We Hold On Together,” her supporters were quick to give it a listen. In the comment section of her Instagram post, they praised how “absolutely gorgeous” the rendition is.
“So beautiful Evelyn. Billye is so lucky to have such an amazing mama,” one user wrote. “I could feel your dad’s sweet spirit in that song, I know he is so proud of you.”
Another supporter shared that she remember her son when it was born years back. Furthermore, they stated that Billye is “blessed” to have Clair as her mother.
“That was so beautiful. You were so cute. I’m happy for you and Clancy. Y’all are gonna be wonderful parents. God Bless y’all,” another wrote.
