America’s Got Talent alum Ava Swiss recently performed alongside Lauren Daigle at her concert in Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. The two delivered an emotional performance of Daigle’s song “Remember”.
Daigle’s Song “Remember,” Holds Great Meaning to Swiss
For those who may not remember, Ava Swiss auditioned for America’s Got Talent earlier this year with an emotional rendition of Daigle’s song “Remember.” Her audition made waves in the season, since she shared her story about living through the tragic Oxford, Michigan school shooting.
The 2018 track is perfect for Swiss, since it’s about remembering easier times in life. Being able to perform the song with the two-time Grammy Award winner is a huge moment that is very memorable for Swiss.
The AGT singer was clearly thankful that Daigle chose to have her on stage. She took the opportunity to publicly thank the singer.
“I wanna say thank you to you because it’s things like this that keep my saying going, that love is stronger than hate.” she said.
Daigle Gives $25,000 in Donation to Swiss’ Organization
After the on stage due, Daigle mentions that the young singer started an organization called 42 Strong. Swiss started the organization in honor of her friend Tate Myre, one of the victims of the 2021 shooting in Michigan.
Daigle then gave Swiss a $25,000 check as a donation for 42 Strong, to help them with their goal. Matching the previous donation, Daigle’s Price Fund would later donate another $25,000 to Colorado Healing Fund. The said fund aims to provide immediate and long-term support to victims’ families and survivors.
“It’s been hard,” Ava said during her AGT audition about coping in the aftermath of the shooting.
She and her brother believed they would never be able to return to school. But at the time of her audition back in April 2022, she had been in person at school for two months. At the time, she stated “things are getting better.”
Swiss made it to the Semifinals during her AGT run, making a decent impact on the show overall. Although she eventually faced elimination, her semifinal performance of P!nk’s “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken,” received standing ovations from all four judges.
