Ava Swiss moved America during her July 26 AGT audition. The 18 year old revealed that her and her brother were apart of the Oxford, Michigan school shooting in November 2021. Now, she uses singing as a method of therapy for her.

Ava Swiss was able to grab the audience’s attention as soon as her audition began. After tearing up about the tragic event, the 18 year old when on to sing a beautiful rendition of “Remember” by Lauren Daigle. The audience was silent throughout her performance, you could seriously hear a pin drop in the auditorium. Her pain and struggles are felt throughout each line of the song.

The audience and judges were brought to their feet soon after Ava’s song concluded. The judges praised the singer for the way she shined on the stage. Since her audition aired, she’s become a clear stand out in the competition. Here’s everything to know about this inspirational 18 year old singer.

Meet Ava Swiss

Ava is an up and coming singer native to Oxford, Michigan. Even though she had gained some online traction via social media, she remains unsigned by a record label. She currently has 2,808 followers on Instagram, 1037 followers on TikTok and 476 subscribers on YouTube.

We’re not sure when Ava began singing, but she has revealed that auditioning for America’s Got Talent was always a dream of hers. Inspiration to audition came directly from her hometown’s strength. She took the stage to represent not only herself, but her hometown.

“I mean, all my life, all my childhood I watched the show and I always kind of dreamed that I would be able to be on that stage one day,” she said to People. “So when I was there, and then on top of it, getting all of the positive feedback, I felt very, very proud of myself… It was an overwhelming amount of happiness.”

It appears that Ava isn’t huge on social media, due to her limited posts. Her first cover on both Instagram and YouTube was “Rise Up” by Andra Day. The difference between the videos are when they were originally published to the platform. The original cover featured Ava playing piano and singing in 2019, while the YouTube video is a tribute to the lives lost in the Oxford, Michigan school shooting. Her tribute video has gained over 42,000 views since it was first published on December 12, 2021.

Ava hopes that her time on AGT will help people of the world understand that things do get better after a while. Even though her life was once struck with tragedy, she has since taken the time to cope and heal. We can’t wait to see what Ava brings to the stage for the next round of AGT.
