Donna Allen, an established pop/soul singer came to Season 5 of The Voice for her big comeback. Prior to auditioning for the show in 2013, she had several top 10 hits and sang backup vocals for Gloria Estefan. For her Blind Audition, she sang a powerful version of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful.” Check out the performance below that had the coaches falling in love with her.

Donna Allen Caused Adam Levine To Fall Out Of His Chair On ‘The Voice’

Donna sang half of the first line of the song before Christina Aguilera hit her button and turned her chair. The crowd erupted in cheers as Adam Levine was right behind her turning his chair. Christina was really feeling the performance and even sat with her eyes closed taking in each and every note of the song.

In the last few lines of the song, Adam was so impressed that he started banging on the front of his chair. Donna finished off the performance strong and it was clear that singing is something she has mastered for years. Christina and Adam both gave her a standing ovation and fought really hard to sway her to choose either of them as a coach.

When Donna chose Adam as a coach, he fell to the ground in excitement. He laid on the floor for a few seconds with a smile on his face. This is a move we have seen from Adam at least 10 times during his time as a coach of The Voice. He ran up to the stage and picked up Donna in a dramatic hug. He literally swept her off her feet.

Donna was so good in her audition that Adam paired her with powerhouse Tessanne Chin during The Battle Rounds. The pair sang Emeli Sandé’s “Next To Me.” It was a pretty epic performance and a very tough choice for Adam. He ended up choosing Tessanne as the winner of The Battle and she went on to become the eventual winner of the show. Donna was sent home but certainly made an impact on The Voice.
