Music superstar Adam Lambert officially has added a new job to his resume, talent show judge on the next season of Australian Idol! The American Idol alum will be part of the franchise’s revamped judging panel after the previous judges stepped back from the duty.

Adam Lambert set to Appear on Revamped Australian Idol Judging Panel

After slaying a special performance on Australian Idol last month, Lambert is now preparing for his return. The singer will be occupying a seat in the critiquing table for the show’s ninth season.

As reported by Daily Mail Australia, Lambert will be joined by another major star who will likely be Kylie Minogue. The two weren’t complete strangers though, as they have already appeared in July on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

Ahead of the confirmations, Lambert has already given a hint about his upcoming role on the show. During his August appearance on the radio show Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, the singer shared that he’ll be gracing Aussie television in 2024.

“You know, I’m not gonna I’m not going to spoil anything,” he said. “But you definitely will see me next year in Australia on television. But that’s all I can say.”

Australian Idol rebooted Channel Seven earlier this year after running seven seasons from 2003 to 2009. Its former panel consisted of Meghan Trainor, Harry Connick Jr., Kyle Sandilands, and Amy Shark.

However, after the show’s renewal for 2024, the judging panel will change after some of the 2023 judges decided to step back. Due to health issues, Shark decided to quit the job. Trainor plans to be hands-on with her newborn son Barry Bruce, and Sandilands reportedly said that there is an existing tension between him and Connick Jr.

He Possesses a Spectacular Coaching Resume

It’s not hard to guess why Lambert was chosen to be an Australian Idol judge. Last May, the singer appeared as an American Idol mentor for the fifth time.

He’s also served as a guest judge on the show. Furthermore, during season 14, Lambert filled in for Keith Urban for the New York auditions, assessing aspirants alongside Harry Connick Jr. and Jennifer Lopez.

Lambert is undeniably one of the most successful singing megastars that American Idol has ever produced. Since 2011, he has served as the vocalist for the legendary rock band Queen, showing off his ultra-powerful vocals during their tour shows.

His solo career has also been booming. He was the one who released the Grammy-nominated single “Whataya Want From Me.” Back in late 2022, Yahoo estimated his net worth at $35 million, placing him just behind fellow Idol alumni Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood in terms of earnings.

Now, he’s gearing up for a massive Japanese tour in 2024 with Queen. The tour will kick off on February 4 in Nagoya. The same will conclude on February 14 on Tokyo Dome.
