The Voice Season 30 returned on Tuesday night for the final episode of Blind Auditions, as all four coaches filled up their teams. The episode ended with the first Battle of the season, on coach Riley Green’s team.
The Voice Season 30 Blind Auditions Wrap Up
Tuesday’s new episode of The Voice Season 30 kicked off with another four-chair turn, from singer Lillie Kolich. Lillie performed “Back to Friends” by Sombr, inspiring Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Levine to turn around almost simultaneously, followed by Queen Latifah a little bit later.
Clarkson praised Lillie for making the song her own, but the singer ultimately chose to join Team Queen. Latifah was surprised that Lillie chose her. After this audition, the coach’s team was full, so she didn’t turn around for any other artists — and no one else was able to be a four-chair turn.
However, singer Evan James did turn three coaches’ chairs with his cover of “Wasted on You” by The Voice alum Morgan Wallen. Clarkson, Green, and Adam all turned for him. Rather than going the obvious country route, Evan chose to join Team Adam.
Kavi Nyx also turned three chairs with her performance of “Wildflowers” by Billie Eilish. Clarkson and Levine turned almost immediately, and Green turned a bit later. Kavi chose to join Team Kelly.
Kelly Clarkson was the second coach to fill up her team during Tuesday’s episode, as Lance Tenazas chose her after performing “Risk It All” by Bruno Mars. The performance prompted both Clarkson and Riley Green to turn their chairs, but Lance opted for Team Kelly.
Later in the show, Adam Levine received his last artist when Wade Turner took the stage to perform “This Town” by Niall Horan. Only Levine and Green were able to turn around, but Clarkson told Wade that he deserved four chairs. Wade chose to join Team Adam.
That left only Riley Green with an empty spot on his team. He ended up turning around for Brayden Howell, who sang “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks. Because Green was the only available coach at that point, Brayden automatically joined his team.
Earlier in the show, Green won over Brendan Coulter, who also turned Kelly Clarkson’s chair with his cover of “Liar” by Jelly Roll. Although Coulter initially said he wanted to be on Team Kelly, he ended up changing his mind and going with Team Riley.
The Battle Round Kicks Off on Team Riley
Tuesday’s episode also featured the first Battle performance of The Voice Season 30, on Riley Green’s team. He paired up sisters Ferryn & Brinkley (the only duo this season) against Brandy Neelly. Country star Carly Pearce was on hand as a Battle Advisor.
The artists performed “Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert for their Battle. Even though Brandy was up against a duo, Clarkson remarked that she still “shined through.” However, Green ultimately chose Ferryn & Brinkley as the winner of the Battle, which means Brandy was eliminated.
