The Voice Season 30 returned on Wednesday night for the third night of premiere week, as the Blind Auditions continued. Two artists earned four-chair turns for their performances, and coach Adam Levine used his “First In” button to claim an artist for his team.
Who Did Lexi Stephens Pick on The Voice?
Wednesday’s new episode of The Voice picked up from Tuesday night’s cliffhanger, as four-chair turn Lexi Stephens revealed which coach’s team she wanted to join. She ended up picking Adam Levine as her coach for the season.
Levine also ended the episode by gaining another artist for his team when Amanda Mikkel took the stage to perform “Moon River.” Her gorgeous voice turned all four coaches’ chairs. As Levine told her, “No matter what you’re singing, it’s gonna be beautiful.”
Fellow coach Riley Green said that Amanda’s rendition of the song “didn’t feel like an audition” by rather “felt like a performance.” Before Amanda had the opportunity to choose which team she wanted to join, Levine used his “First In” button.
Because Levine was the first coach to turn his chair for Amanda (just nine-tenths of a second before Kelly Clarkson, apparently), he got to claim her for his team. Amanda shared that he would have been her first choice anyway, so it worked out well.
Amanda Mikkel wasn’t the only artist to turn all four coaches’ chairs on Wednesday night’s episode of The Voice. Kyle Davis also received the honor for his performance of “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel. Levine pointed out that it’s a hard song to cover, while Green compared Kyle to Dave Matthews.
However, when it came time to choose a team, Kyle decided to join Team Kelly. Clarkson also won over 14-year-old singer Brooklyn Marie, whose performance of “Traitor” by Olivia Rodrigo also turned Queen Latifah’s chair. As Clarkson told Brooklyn, “I know how to win this show.”
Two other Blind Auditions from Wednesday’s show managed to turn both Queen Latifah and Riley Green’s chairs. After performing “White Horse” by Chris Stapleton, Kenna Elpers chose to join Team Riley. Later, Morgan Lett chose to join Team Queen after singing “I’m Going Down” by Mary J. Blige.
