On Monday morning, we found out the first celebrity-pro partnership of Dancing with the Stars Season 35. Reigning Mirrorball champion Witney Carson announced that she’ll be dancing with Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez.
DWTS Pro Witney Carson to Dance with Guillermo Rodriguez
On Monday morning, DWTS pro Witney Carson appeared on Good Morning America to promote her appearance on this week’s episode of DWTS: The Next Pro. During her interview, Carson revealed her celebrity partner for this season of the show.
The dancer will be paired with Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez, whose participation in Season 35 was announced earlier this year. Carson is the first pro to be confirmed for the new season, and this is the first partnership to be announced.
“Dude, I was so stoked,” Carson said of learning that Rodriguez is her partner. “I think he is so sweet. He’s so fun. That’s exactly what I need in this season of life that I’m in, just someone who’s fun, personable.”
Carson shared another exciting announcement during her appearance on GMA, as she revealed that she’s currently expecting her third child. That means she’ll be competing on Season 35 while pregnant. Carson is the reigning Mirrorball champion, having won Season 34 with celebrity partner Robert Irwin.
Season 35 of DWTS will return to ABC and Disney+ with a two-night premiere on Tuesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 16. Other celebrity contestants who have been announced so far include Maura Higgins, Ciara Miller, and Jackson Olson.
The full cast of Season 35 will be announced September 2 on Good Morning America. That includes the winner of The Next Pro, which currently has five contestants left. The spinoff show airs Monday nights on ABC.
