Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro returned on Monday night, as the remaining six contestants showed off “wow moments” for their chance to stay in the competition. DWTS pro Daniella Karagach served as a guest judge and mentor for the episode.
DWTS: The Next Pro Returns with ‘Wow Moments’
This week on DWTS: The Next Pro, the contestants paired up with each other to choreograph contemporary routines. They were asked to incorporate at least one viral dance move from the show (as demonstrated by Daniella Karagach in an opening routine), plus one signature move of their own.
AJ and Nina were up first. Their “wow moment” featured something reminiscent of a koala hug, which the judges enjoyed. Karagach said they “both understood the assignment,” while judge Shirley Ballas told AJ that he “came out of your comfort zone” this week.
The judges were also wowed by Allen and Adele’s routine, which featured a “caveman walk” and “Allen-copter” move. Judge Mark Ballas told them they “dance so well together,” while Shirley Ballas called Adele “one of the best female dancers I’ve ever seen.”
At the end of the night, AJ, Nina, Allen, and Adele were all safe from elimination. They’ll return to the show to compete in next week’s challenge.

Who Was Eliminated This Week?
At the end of this week’s DWTS: The Next Pro episode, Mark Ballas acknowledged that this was “the hardest deliberation this season.” However, Selena and Erik ended up in the bottom two because they didn’t follow the assignment. Instead of creating a signature move, they said their wow moment was in the silence.
Because both dancers took responsibility for this decision, they were both up for elimination. Ultimately, the judges chose to eliminate Erik from the competition. Selena will return for next week’s episode. The other dancers were emotional over Erik leaving the show.
There are only five dancers left in the competition heading into next week’s show, which will challenge them to teach an amateur dancer like they would on DWTS. Last season’s winning pro Witney Carson will serve as a guest judge and mentor.
