Stephani Sosa opened up about her elimination from Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro in a recent podcast interview. Sosa admitted that she expected to be eliminated after her performance with fellow contestant Tristen Sanders.
Stephani Sosa Predicted Her DWTS: The Next Pro Elimination
During this week’s episode of DWTS: The Next Pro, the contestants were challenged to show off their chemistry. Stephani Sosa (sister of DWTS pro Ezra Sosa) danced a rumba with Tristen Sanders. Unfortunately, both of them were eliminated from the show after their performance.
“After we danced, I kind of had a feeling we were going home,” Sosa told Joe Vulpis on his podcast. “Just because all of the routines were so phenomenal. I was, like, speechless just sitting there watching everybody absolutely kill it.”
The notes Sosa and Sanders received from judge Shirley Ballas added to her sense that they might be eliminated. She described herself and Sanders as “the underdogs” in this week’s show. However, she agreed that they were “the weakest couple.”
“I definitely learned a lot about myself in the process of just even that last week, and all the weeks on the show,” Sosa said of what she took away from the experience.
One of the most notable moments of DWTS: The Next Pro so far is when contestant Natalie Jolley was eliminated from the show in the third week after sustaining an injury during rehearsal. While practicing a group number, Sosa accidentally hit Jolley in the face.
Sosa said she “felt horrible” about what happened, adding that she’s sending Jolley “a lot of love.” She shared that the two of them are “on good terms” now, months after the show filmed. The two dancers knew each other before the show, having danced in the same studio growing up.
“She’s such a beautiful dancer in person, and I hate that I was one of the reasons that she was eliminated from the competition,” Sosa said. “Her journey was cut short, ’cause she is so talented. It really broke my heart.”
