Madison Chock and Evan Bates on Live with Kelly and Mark

Dancing with the Stars insider Kristyn Burtt recently took to social media to hint that Olympic ice dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates could be joining the Season 35 cast. This rumor has yet to be officially confirmed.

DWTS Insider Hints at More Season 35 Celebrities

Earlier this week, Kristyn Burtt posted a video on social media in which she can be seen opening her laptop and putting her glasses on, set to dramatic audio introducing basketball player John Wall. She captioned the post, “Locking in.”

Text on the video reads, “When it’s been a month since a DWTS contestant was announced. The Next Pro is a month away. Chock & Bates are taking the season off.” This is a reference to Madison Chock and Evan Bates, who are married ice dancers.

The implication seems to be that Chock and Bates could be joining the show for Season 35, which is set to premiere this fall on ABC and Disney+. They have yet to officially be announced as contestants, but an Instagram commenter pointed out that Chock has expressed interest in appearing on the show.

Which Celebrity Contestants Have Been Announced?

Only three celebrity contestants have officially been announced for Season 35 of DWTS so far — Love Island star Maura Higgins, Summer House cast member Ciara Miller, and Savannah Bananas baseball player Jackson Olson.

The full cast of celebrities and pro dancers will be announced on Good Morning America on September 2. One of this season’s pros will be decided by the spin-off competition show The Next Pro, which premieres on ABC on July 13.

The Next Pro will be hosted by Season 34 Mirrorball champion Robert Irwin, with Mark and Shirley Ballas serving as judges. Twelve hopeful dancers will be competing for their chance to join the DWTS ballroom this year.
