Country star Blake Shelton recently took the stage to perform at the ACM Awards, but his wife Gwen Stefani was absent from the event. However, two of Stefani’s sons were present for Shelton’s performance.
During Sunday’s ACM Awards, Blake Shelton took the stage to perform “The Gambler” in honor of songwriter Don Schlitz. Unfortunately, Shelton’s wife Gwen Stefani couldn’t attend the awards, as she was busy performing her residency with No Doubt in Las Vegas.
However, Stefani’s sons Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 12, were present at the event to watch their stepdad perform. Video clips posted by fans on X (formerly Twitter) showed Zuma in the audience wearing a black cowboy hat, and Apollo hugging Shelton at a table.
Stefani and Shelton have had quite a few scheduling conflicts lately. For example, Shelton was performing his own Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace the night Stefani kicked off her run at the Sphere with No Doubt.
Shelton jokingly blamed his manager for booking him and Stefani on “the exact same nights every single night.” The No Doubt residency runs through June 13. Shelton reportedly plans to attend a show on a night when he’s free.
Shelton and Stefani have been the subject of divorce rumors for quite some time now, with outlets and fans latching onto missed appearances as evidence that the couple could be having problems. However, Shelton has addressed these rumors head-on.
“I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’” Shelton said in an interview with Country Countdown USA in January. “‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’”
Shelton doesn’t seem to be taking these rumors to heart, however. As he said of the gossip, “I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet.”
