There could be some pretty major drama on the set of Dancing with the Stars, according to a new report. Sources told the U.S. Sun that some veteran pros feel disrespected and are threatening to quit the show.
Do the Dancing with the Stars Pros Have a Rivalry?
An insider claims that a “rivalry” has been developing between the more experienced Dancing with the Stars pros and the newer additions to the show. Notably, four of the show’s more veteran dancers were eliminated in the first few weeks of the competition this season — Jenna Johnson, Britt Stewart, Brandon Armstrong, and Gleb Savchenko.
“There is tension brewing between the professional dancers. The vets are feeling overshadowed by the show’s newer, younger talent,” a source told the Sun. “And there have been passive-aggressive remarks on set. Some of the older pros are really getting fed up with the producers’ strategic partner preferences.”
The insider claimed that last season’s winning pro Jenna Johnson “feels she was done dirty this season,” adding that “Britt and Brandon feel the same way.” Johnson was paired with actor Corey Feldman this season, while Stewart and Armstrong were paired with Baron Davis and Lauren Jauregui, respectively.
“And those three, being so experienced and quite frankly, all very beloved, do not understand why newer talent like Rylee [Arnold] and Ezra [Sosa] get the younger, fan-favorite contestants,” the source went on to say. “They feel disrespected by producers and it’s essentially set up a rivalry between new vs old pros.”

Are Pros Threatening to Quit the Show?
The Sun‘s source made it clear that the more experienced Dancing with the Stars pros “don’t have anything personal against Rylee or any of the newer pros, it’s the system they are angry with.” They added that Johnson and Armstrong have both apparently spoken about “wanting to quit” after the current season.
“They are fed up with the favoritism and social politics of the show. They don’t deserve the treatment they’re getting and they know that,” the source said. “They are considering ending their contracts and walking away. Producers are trying to play it cool but if they’re not careful, they’re in danger of losing all of their legacy talent.”
It’s important to remember that this is all just gossip. It’s also worth noting that the show’s youngest pro, Rylee Arnold, was just eliminated earlier this week with her celebrity partner Scott Hoying. Meanwhile, frontrunner Robert Irwin is paired with pro Witney Carson, who has been on the show for over 10 years.
