‘DWTS’ Hosts Julianne Hough, Alfonso Ribeiro Get Moving in New Season 34 Promo

Dancing with the Stars hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro are doing the most to promote Season 34 of the show, premiering next month. The duo appears in a new promo for the season, dancing to “Pump Up the Jam” by Technotronic.

On Sunday, the DWTS Instagram account posted a video of Alfonso Ribeiro teasing that “something special” would be coming the next day, telling fans that they “don’t want to miss it.” That “something special” turned out to be a new promo for Season 34 featuring Ribeiro and his co-host Julianne Hough.
In the clip, the pair can be seen dancing together in a rehearsal room, showing off a variety of energetic moves while sporting casual clothes. The video then cuts to the hosts in glamorous black outfits, strutting through the ballroom below a large mirrorball.
Hough and Ribeiro continue to dance to “Pump Up the Jam” through the end of the clip, which reminds viewers to catch the Season 34 premiere on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesday, September 16. It will be available stream on Hulu the following day.

Some Fans Were Disappointed by the Surprise
Ribeiro’s Sunday announcement about something fans could look forward to the following day seemed to get a lot of people’s hopes up that something big was going to happen. Some fans seemed disappointed or confused that it was only a short promo.
Even Brylee Armstrong, wife of pro Brandon Armstrong, commented, “Bestie what is the announcement.” Fans also commented on a new poster featuring Ribeiro and Hough, with one person wondering, “Is this the announcement.” Someone else wrote, “Was this literally it? Just to announce a promo poster?”
Considering the caption for Ribeiro’s teaser video included the phrase “pump up the jam,” it’s safe to say that the promo and poster were indeed the “something special” to get excited about. Fans will have to wait until September 3 for the Season 34 cast to be officially announced on Good Morning America.
Four celebrity contestants have already been announced for this season — Robert Irwin, Alix Earle, and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt.
