Nick Cannon always makes a statement with everything he does. So it was no surprise when he disappeared from The Masked Singer, and returned as a contestant. In case you missed it, Cannon was absent from multiple filming days during The Masked Singer Season 5, when he had COVID.

Nick Cannon Surprises as Bulldog

During The Masked Singer Season 5 Group B final, replacement host Niecy Nash announced a brand new wildcard contestant. The new contestant, Bulldog, went on to perform a lively rendition of “Candy Girl.” The energetic performance also featured an elaborate dance alongside the singing.

After the performance, the panel guessed Bulldog could be Chris Tucker, Andy Samberg, or even Chris Rock based on the clues. Eventually, Nash announced that she would be the person deciding which singer was eliminated, differing from how the show typically features in-audience voting.

Nash announced Bulldog as the celebrity that would be revealed, and fans were SHOCKED to see Cannon under the Bulldog’s disguise.

The extensive Bulldog costume Cannon wore featured glitzy gold fabrics and a bulldog mask with articulated jaws. The clue package contained sly references to Cannon’s career, including hosting America’s Got Talent.

By unveiling himself dramatically as Bulldog, Cannon got to surprise the audience and panel. He also drummed up excitement for his official return as host the following week.
