Derek Hough Shares That Wife Hayley Erbert’s Surgery Was a Success

Derek Hough has updated fans about his wife Hayley Erbert’s recent skull surgery. He wrote on Instagram that it was “successfully completed as planned.” Erbert recently underwent a craniectomy after being diagnosed with a cranial hematoma.
Derek Hough Updates Fans on Hayley Erbert’s Surgery
Earlier this week, Hough shared that Erbert would be undergoing surgery to replace part of her skull that was removed during her craniectomy. On Thursday, he posted an update, sharing a photo of himself by Erbert’s hospital bed.
“With immense relief, gratitude and overwhelming joy I’d like to share that Hayley’s cranioplasty surgery has been successfully completed as planned,” Hough wrote in the caption, thanking the medical team for “ensuring a smooth and successful surgery.”
Hough gave particular thanks to Dr. Mai, who performed this latest surgery and “was also the one who saved her life 2 weeks ago.” He also thanked fans for their support, saying it has been “a source of strength and comfort for us during this challenging time.”
The Dancing with the Stars judge said this surgery is “a significant milestone in my wife’s recovery journey.” Hough shared earlier this month that Erbert was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel.

Friends, Co-Stars Send Their Love to the Couple
Hough’s latest post about Erbert is filled with comments wishing the couple well and sharing their relief that the surgery was successful. America’s Got Talent judge Heidi Klum called it “great news” and added several red heart emojis.
DWTS pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd wrote, “Sending all our love to her and you Derek.” Fellow pro Jenna Johnson commented, “Sooooooo grateful!!! Sending all the love, prayers and healing energy to her.” Former contestant Nikki Garcia shared three prayer hand emojis.
Hough and Erbert were performing on their Symphony of Dance Tour when she was hospitalized. The remaining dates on the tour have since been canceled, and will be rescheduled.
