Katy Perry Promises New Music as Las Vegas Residency Nears Its End

American Idol judge Katy Perry has assured fans that she’s working on new music. In the coming months, the singer will be focused on finishing up her Las Vegas residency Play. Perry is scheduled to perform her last show at Resorts World Theatre this November.
Katy Perry Says She’s Working on New Music
Perry’s most recent album Smile was released back in 2020. She’s put out a few singles and collaborations since then, but fans are read to hear a longer project from the singer. In a recent interview with Good Morning America, Perry said she’s working on new music.
“I haven’t put any new material out since my Darling Daisy,” Perry acknowledged. “I think that I’m writing a lot and have written a lot from a place of love, because I’m feeling so much of it — so much unconditional love, that love you never knew existed.”
Although she’s “always writing,” Perry added that “what’s really important to me is to be celebrating the world that I’ve got to build with all of these wonderful songs and to be responsible for a life for a three-year-old.”
“I will be back, but let me get this right,” the singer said.

Perry’s Play Residency Ends in November
Earlier this year, Perry announced the final shows in her Las Vegas residency at Resorts World Theatre. Those shows will take place on various dates from October 4 to November 4, 2023. The singer is also performing a few more shows in Las Vegas this month.
Perry told GMA that Play is “my favorite show I’ve ever created.” She recognized that fans are spending their “hard-earned money” to come see her perform, in many cases “planning a vacation around it.”
“I’m just so grateful for the continuous opportunity to keep evolving as an artist, as a human, as a mother, and to be able to keep bringing joy to people’s lives through the arts and entertainment and visuals,” Perry said.
