The 7 Funniest Impressionist Acts In ‘AGT’ History
Reading Time: 2 minutes
There have been several talented impressionist acts on AGT over the years, but they don’t always get the same attention as other types of comedians. Changing your voice to convincingly impersonate someone well-known is a pretty cool talent, and we think they deserve more credit.
Read on to watch some of our favorite impressionist acts in America’s Got Talent history. Some of them made it far in the competition, while others left a big impression (Get it?) in just one or two performances.
1. Greg Morton
Let’s start with a talented impressionist from the current season of the show. Greg auditioned for Season 14 by recreating the movie Star Wars with voices and sound effects. The wonderfully wacky performance brought the judges and audience to their feet and sent him to the next round.
2. Terry Fator
You might think of Season 2 winner Terry Fator as a ventriloquist first, but his performances also involve impersonating various famous singers, including Etta James and Tony Bennett. His talent earned him the million dollars and has made him a huge star.
3. Melissa Villaseñor
This current SNL cast member appeared on Season 6 of AGT with her hilarious impressionist act. She made it all the way to the Semifinals with impressions of celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Miley Cyrus, and Christina Aguilera.
4. Daniel Ferguson
Daniel’s audition in Season 12 involved singing “Cake by the Ocean” in the voices of different characters, including Kermit the Frog and Mickey Mouse. “Everyone is gonna love this act,” Simon Cowell told him. Unfortunately, Daniel was eliminated in Judge Cuts, but his act has earned millions of views online.
5. Matthew Piazzi
This impressionist wowed the judges with his impersonations of celebrities like Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. His funny act carried him to the Quarterfinals of Season 3.
6. Angela Hoover
Angelia Hoover made it to the Semifinals of Season 8 with her hilarious celebrity impressions. She even managed to impersonate judges Mel B and Heidi Klum having a conversation.
7. Jim Meskimen
This talented impressionist appeared on Season 8 of AGT. One of his performances included audience and judges’ suggestions for celebrities to impersonate, including Robin Williams and Dr. Phil. Jim made it to the Quarterfinals.
