Singer Sara Beth Quits American Idol Season 21
Sunday’s episode of American Idol marked the first round of Hollywood Week. Sara Beth, who received a Golden Ticket in her audition, took the stage to perform “Roxanne” by The Police. Then she shocked the judges by sharing that she would be leaving the show.
“This opportunity is really rad, but this is actually gonna be my last performance,” Sara Beth said. “My heart’s at home, so I’m gonna get home to my babies. They kinda need me, so…”
Earlier in the season, Sara Beth’s audition got fans talking as they accused judge Katy Perry of mom shaming the singer for having three kids at age 25. Sara Beth later took to TikTok to call Perry’s comments “hurtful.”
Perry tried to convince Sara Beth to stay in the competition, and the judges even told her she would be sent through to the next round. However, the singer still chose to leave, admitting that she would probably regret the decision later.
