Tom Bergeron was the host of Dancing With The Stars for more than a decade until he was let go after season 28. His time on the short may have been cut short but the fact remains that he loved DWTS, and he revealed what he missed the most about the show.

Tom Bergeron Shared That He Misses Ziplining The Most

The former DWTS host has oftentimes been asked by the media and fans what he misses the most about being on the show. Having been on the show since the beginning until season 28 in 2019, Bergeron has seen many memorable dance routines. What he misses the most about the show is not about dance however, it’s ziplining.

Bergeron shared a photo to his Instagram account showing himself hanging on a zipline while on the set of DWTS. The former host used to ride a zipline from an upper section of the set to the center of the stage and then begins his hosting duties.

The throwback photo from a 2014 episode of DWTS is Bergeron’s answer to the question that fans are always asking him. The current co-host of the show Alfonso Ribeiro played along. He commented that he also got stuck in the zipline before.

The Former Host Butted Heads With The Show’s Producers

Bergeron revealed during a podcast appearance what he thought went wrong when Andrew Llinares took over in 2018. The former host shared that he thinks Llinares took the show’s direction to a point that disrespected the professional dancers.

“I think in 2018, there was a four-week athlete season or something like that. That I just thought was not produced very well,” Bergeron said. “I think some of the production numbers were overly complex and the dancing kind of got lost in that. When you get into, as I think they did in the couple of years since I’ve been gone. I felt that they were already starting to disrespect the pros.”

Bergeron added that professional dancers were not being announced with their full names or permitted to conduct their own choreography. Llinares has since been replaced on the show by Conrad Green. That decision is what Bergeron said is the “best” for the show.
