Snoop Dogg Comes Clean About Using Auto-Tune on T-Pain’s Podcast

Snoop Dogg recently looked back at his very lengthy, yet successful music career while guest appearing on T-Pain’s Podcast. On Nappy Boy Radio Podcast, Snoop Dogg explained what makes him use autotune in “Sensual Seduction.”
Snoop Dogg Explains Why He Used Auto-Tune
Oddly enough, Snoop Dogg admitted that he used autotune on “Sensual Seduction” to sound like T-Pain. Luckily, T-Pain was flattered by his inspiration. Snoop was relieved, admitting that he thought T-Pain would react differently.
For those who may not know, “Sensual Seduction” is the first single from Snoop’s ninth studio album Ego Trippin‘. This track is known for the rapper’s frequent use of auto-tune throughout the song. After getting the record from producer Shawty Redd, Snoop became the rapper singing on the track.
As someone who is more into recording rap songs, Snoop had doubts that he could pull off the vocals, prompting him to use auto-tune. Snoop admired T-Pain’s vocals and wanted to sound more like him while recording the track.
“So I get the record and I’m like, ‘let me put a little T-Pain on it,’ cause’ they were calling it,” Snoop said. “I want to hear me on top of the T-Pain because I think I can sing and T-Pain would be perfect under me.”
Much to Snoop’s surprise, T-Pain actually liked and appreciated his use of auto-tune to sound more alike. The rapper genuinely thought that T-Pain would hate him for trying to mimic his voice, but that wasn’t the case.
Snoop Hates it When Someone Licks His Blunt
Snoop is a self-titled cannabis connoisseur, and unsurprisingly takes his blunt rolling very seriously. He revealed on the podcast that he hates it when somebody else licks his blunts after rolling them, and not just for health reasons.
“You know after Covid I had to do it by myself,” Snoop said. “I was like, “hold on cuz, you want me to hit that?” I don’t think fire can put that sh*t out.”
Snoop said his thought about how much he disliked how his previous blunt rollers licked his blunts shut. Afterward, he made fun of the blunt roller’s claims that the fire from lighting the blunt would kill the virus before it infects him. It serves as the first rule to his blunt rollers, to never lick Snoop’s blunts.
