LEAKED: Yu Hojin Makes Feathers Appear Out of Thin Air in His ‘AGT’ Audition!
Reading Time: 3 minutes
South Korean magician Yu Hojin has secured his place as the first America’s Got Talent audition to leak ahead of the auditions seven episode. This close up magician is sure to leave you jaw dropped!
29 year old Yu Hojin is taking the stage this Tuesday for his America’s Got Talent audition. Even though he currently resides in Seoul, South Korea, he came to the stage to create a name for himself. After departing from the army, Yu decided to pursue magic as a career. He began practicing magic at a young age, behind the back of his dad (who didn’t approve of Yu’s passion). Since his dad found out about his skills, he’s asked him to become the best magician ever.
As soon as the act started, Yo revealed a frame on a stand. From behind the frame, he performed various close up magic tricks, featuring feathers. He made the feathers do all sorts of things, including appear out of thin air. It was most impressive when he made the feather levitate within the constraints of the frame. The audience couldn’t contain their excitement for this act, they cheered louder and louder with each trick.
Yu then finished the frame outside of the frame’s restrictions. His final trick involved him scattering all of the feathers used across the stage.
Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel gave Yu a standing ovation. Heidi Klum joined the other judges in standing soon after. Simon Cowell remained in his seat at the end of the audition, so we’re curious to see what he thought of this audition. We’ve seen several other close up magicians this season, so it’s possible Yu wasn’t his favorite.
Who is Yu Hojin?
Yu is currently apart of the magic group, The Illusionists. If the name sounds familiar, it’s probably because he’s appeared on AGT before under that name. He’s also appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, World’s Best Magic, Champions of Magic, Masters of Illusion, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and more.
At the age of eight, he participated in magic competitions, often winning titles such as “The Youngest Competitor.” Yu has won countless prizes at international magic competitions in the U.S.A., Taiwan, Italy, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom. He was one of the first magicians to perform in the concert hall at the historic Sydney Opera House and made history as the first Asian magician to perform on Broadway.
According to a local news source, Yu Hojin has “received word that he passed the initial auditions for this season of America’s Got Talent and will be moving on to the live rounds.” It seems like he’s currently apart of a 90 minute magic show called PRESTO! alongside mind reader Chris Cox. These shows take place in Okaloosa County, Florida, with a 10 show a week schedule until August 28.
