‘The Voice’s Sasha Allen Shares New Song Reacting to Gun Violence in America

The Voice Season 21 contestant Sasha Allen has something to say about gun violence in the United States and he’s sharing it through an original song. Sasha, who reached the Semifinals with his dad Jim, posted a video on social media performing the emotional composition.
The Voice‘s Sasha Allen Shares Song About Gun Violence
Sasha shared the video on TikTok and Instagram, writing in the caption, “over 240 mass shootings in the US since the beginning of 2022.” In the clip, he sings about the public reaction to mass shootings such as the one at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, last month.
“And the world just keeps spinning every day / ‘Til it stops for a moment when the headline hits the page,” he sings. “And everyone in suit and ties will act as if they’ve lost their minds and say / ‘Won’t you pray with me?'”
Sasha goes on to sing about how politicians wonder how the same violence can happen over and over again while families of the previous shooting’s victims still mourn. He finishes the song with the line, “It happened again.”

Fans Shared Their Appreciation for the Song
Sasha’s Instagram followers shared their support for the video in the comments. Fellow Season 21 contestant Bella DeNapoli was among them, writing that the song was “powerful.” Another fan wrote, “Beautiful music and words.”
Followers on TikTok were just as supportive, as the video has over 1,500 likes as of this writing. One commenter told Sasha, “Thank you for using your beautiful voice to speak up.”
Fans are waiting eagerly for Jim and Sasha to release music since their time on The Voice. Sasha teased on Twitter in March that they were in the recording studio, so it looks like things are in the works. Until then, you can hear some demos on Sasha’s Soundcloud account.
