Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel Get Keys to the Las Vegas Strip in Tearful Ceremony

Simon Cowell paid a visit to the Las Vegas strip on March 12. Sin City gave the talent show mogul was given the keys to the Las Vegas strip for the success of America’s Got Talent Las Vegas. Cowell was joined by co-star Howie Mandel for the honor.
Cowell was honored by Sin City for his contribution to the Las Vegas strip. The AGT Las Vegas Live residency has been wildly popular since it first opened. The beloved talent show judges made sure to express that the shows success was due to the individual troupe members.
The TV Mogul Tearfully Thanks His Las Vegas Cast
Right after receiving the honorary key to the Las Vegas strip, Cowell joked about the fact that he gets full access to the entertainment capital of the world after proposing to his longtime girlfriend. He continued the joke by stating that he’s honored, but it would’ve been more fun 10 years ago.
The talent show mogul then expressed his gratitude for the show as a whole. He thanked the strip for the honor, but especially thanked his cast and crew. He teared up while thanking his cast personally.
“This is the best example of what this show produces..brilliant, brilliant, amazing people and I never get the chance to say it individually,” Cowell said. “This is my chance now to say sincerely thanks to all of you. You have all been a pleasure to work with. Thank you for coming on the show.”
Cowell later mentioned that it was a big decision for them to create this show. In the end, they decided to just got for it. He stated that the hardest part of the show was determining who would be in it. AGT Las Vegas Live debuted at the Luxor Resort and Casino on November 4, but was heavily advertised at the end of season 16. Since joining the Las Vegas strip, this residency has been extremely popular.
Howie Mandel Praises AGT Las Vegas Live Crew For Living Out Their Dreams
The Sin City executives gave Mandel a duplicate of Cowell’s key at the ceremony. Even though Mandel isn’t the same status as Cowell, he plays the role as the series longest running judge. This comedian joined AGT as a judge in 2010 and has remained ever since. He’s seen these acts develop into their careers in the same way as Cowell, so he also expressed similar gratitude for them.
“I’m lucky enough that this guy gave me a job on this show and I feel honored just to be able to sit in a room and watch people like you show up with dreams and hopes and maybe you change your life,” Mandel said talking to the performers.
He shared just how proud he was of these performers, noting that a lot of them are living their dream. Tons of contestants come on to AGT and say that they want a show in Las Vegas, but these performers are living that dream. The beloved judge stated that he was amazed during Saturday night’s show.
