Jimmie Allen Previews New Music That Has Fans Worried

Jimmie Allen, the country star who we first met on American Idol, has taken the country music world by storm. From his hit singles, “Freedom Was a Highway” to “This Is US,” Allen has taken the reign of country music while breaking down barriers. The singer recently won Best New Artist at the Country Music Association Awards. Allen gave fans a snippet of new music on his Instagram, but the sound was different from what people have come to know him by.
“Had so much fun writing this with my boys,” Allen says in the caption of his post.
Without much information, all that we know is Allen has taken on a new music genre with this snippet. The song has heavy pop tones with a dash of an 80’s guitar beat. Think Maroon 5 in their prime. Fans are worried that their favorite country singer is leaving the genre altogether.
Allen’s comments are riddled with some supporters enjoying the music, and others not so much. Allen’s fans can possibly breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Allen only describes this as a new “demo” as he states in his Instagram stories. The Grammy nominated artist is also a songwriter. It is not unheard of for songwriters to sing a demo of their song before selling to another artist.
Jimmie Allen the Pop Star?
Allen has said on record that he enjoys all genres of music. Him branching off may be how he grows in the music industry. Country fans are used to their favorite artists crossing over to more mainstream pop. Taylor Swift famously left country music behind after her rise to fame.
This isn’t the first time Allen has hinted at experimenting in new music genres. In November of last year he posted another snippet of a demo song called “Sēnorita.” That song also featured a heavy techno beat.
For now we can all rest easy and enjoy Allen as he is currently on his 2022 tour. The singer also has a new song with Nick Carter that was released this month.
