‘The Voice AU’ Coach Rita Ora Stuns Audience With Kelly Clarkson Cover

The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon shared a sneak preview for what’s to come on the newest episode of the instant hit That’s My Jam. Within the preview, fans see The Voice Australia coach Rita Ora sing one of Kelly Clarkson‘s biggest hits, and Clarkson herself is in awe of the hilarious performance.
That’s my Jam is Jimmy Fallon’s newest series based off of the mini games from his late night talk show. The series is currently airing its first season. The coaches from The Voice U.S. were the first contestants on the new show.
Fallon brings together celebrities to compete in music based mini games. The celebrities are broken into two teams of two and are competing for a donation to the charity of their choice. Rita Ora is on the newest episode alongside Taika Waititi, Normani, and Taraji P. Henson.
Rita Ora Sings Kelly Clarkson Hit in That’s My Jam challenge
In the preview, the contestants are competing in the singing challenge portion of the competition. Ora got the challenge of magic mic. Although she first thought the challenge had to do with the film Magic Mike, she was happy to find out that she wasn’t actually stripping on the stage. Instead there is six microphones on stage. Her goal is to sing into the microphone that lights up. The challenge forces her to run between the microphones while continuing to sing Clarkson’s hit, “Since U Been Gone.”
As soon as Ora was assigned this song, she shared that she simply loves this song. The singer quickly found out that each microphone was different when she went between them, each one manipulated her voice differently. Ora took this challenge like a champ, but it was obvious she wanted to burst out laughing. I think Ora put on quite the show in the preview of this challenge.
This was such a fun crossover for The Voice franchise. Since Ora and Clarkson are coaches on The Voice in different countries, we don’t normally associate the two with one another. This crossover was a happy surprise and I hope it branches into something more. As artists, I think both of these singers could create a great song together. I hope to see a collaboration in the near future.
This episode of That’s My Jam premieres on NBC at 9 p.m. ET tonight.
