NBC’s new show, Songland, is showcasing a different side of the music industry. From Executive Producer Adam Levine, the new competition show will bring in HUGE stars to find their next hit singles from up-and-coming songwriters. This is where the magic behind the music really happens!

As you can tell, Songland is going to be jam-packed with stars! And lucky songwriters will have a chance to have one of those chart-topping recording artists record a song they wrote. Songland takes an inside look at the creative process behind a song. But don’t forget, it’s still a competition! And the stakes are high.

How Songland Works

Songland brings together songwriters, competing for a chance to have their song recorded by one of the biggest names in the music industry. Every week, a different guest artist will be featured. Unknown songwriters will pitch their original material and whichever one the artist picks, they will actually record as a single. So this is the opportunity of a lifetime!

Along the way, the songwriters will be mentored by three music producers, Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean, and Shane McAnally. The guest artist will pair the hopeful songwriters with one of these producers. Ryan Tedder is the lead singer of OneRepublic and Grammy-winning producer of Adele, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift. Ester Dean is a Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer of Rihanna, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. But you’ll probably recognize her from Pitch Perfect! Finally, Shane McAnally is a Grammy-winning songwriter and producer of Kacey Musgraves, Kelly Clarkson, and Sam Hunt. He has 38 #1 country records to his name.

Who Are The Guest Artists?

As we mentioned earlier, the guest artists really are some of the biggest names in music. But with the producers on the show, that shouldn’t be too surprising! These are the vocalists you want to hear singing your songs.

Here are the recording artists who will be appearing on Songland, looking for their next chart-topping hit from these up-and-coming songwriters.

  • The Jonas Brothers
  • John Legend
  • Meghan Trainor
  • Macklemore
  • Charlie Puth
  • Kelsea Ballerini
  • will.i.am
  • OneRepublic
  • Aloe Blacc
  • Old Dominion
  • Leona Lewis

I mean, come on. That lineup is insane! If this was a music festival, it would sell out instantly. Plus with Adam Levine and The Voice‘s Executive Producer Audrey Morrissey behind the scenes, this will be a hit. The songwriters will have quite the docket of artists to work with on the show.

Where Can I Watch?

So obviously now you just want to know where you can see it all happen! Songland will air on NBC on Tuesdays at 10pm ET/PT, starting May 28th. Tune in with us starting then!
