Fan Favorite ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Stars Get Their Own Competition Show

RuPaul’s Drag Race is the gift that keeps on giving. Fans of the show will be excited to know that yet another spinoff show is in the works. The new show, Call Me Mother, is inspired by RuPaul’s song of the same name. It will be hosted by Dallas Dixon and Season 9 fan-favorite Peppermint, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK ‘s Crystal, and Canadian queen Barbada.
‘RuPaul’s Drag Race‘ Stars Serve as Mentors on New Show ‘Call Me Mother’
Call Me Mother officially has the coolest concept ever. Each of the three superstar queens will engage in a battle of their drag houses. For eight weeks, the three houses will go head to head in fun challenges. The houses are Peppermint’s House of Dulcet, Crystal’s House of Glass, and Barbada’s House of Harmonie. One person will be eliminated from the losing drag house each week. The eliminated contestant will be chosen by that house’s drag mother.
The winner of Call Me Mother will not be going home empty handed. They will earn the title of “First Child of Drag” and an awesome prize package worth $50,000. On regular seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the winner receives a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics and a cash prize of $100,000.
“I’m so excited for people to watch Call Me Mother! I loved filming the series and I can’t wait for viewers to meet our gorgeous, adopted families,” Crystal said in an interview with ET Canada. “Viewers can expect warmth, humor, diversity, lewks and bucketloads of talent. You’re going to DIE!”
Call Me Mother is going to be a bit different from typical seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Dallas explained that the show will be the most diverse and inclusive series yet.
“This is an inclusive competition series – there really hasn’t been anything like this before,” he said. “We have trans performers, we have non-binary performers, we have drag kings, we have drag queens.”
The first-look images released by Entertainment Weekly tease everything that’s to come on this exciting new competition show. The show will premiere in the fall on OUTtv, an Apple TV+ channel in the United States and Canada. Fans in the UK can watch the show on Fruit TV.
