Judge Permanently Blocks Sofia Vergara’s Ex From Using Frozen Embryos

Sofia Vergara’s battle with her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb over their frozen embryos has finally come to an end. This legal battle has gone on for years but now a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has barred Nick from using any of the frozen embryos. They stored the embryos when they were still a couple in case they wanted to explore having children together.
Sofia Vergara And Nick Loeb’s Embryo Battle Is Over
Nick and Sofia broke up in 2014 after a 2-year engagement. When they got engaged in 2012, the pair created two embryos through in vitro fertilization. They were frozen in California and the pair did sign a contract in 2013. However, the details of the contract state that the decision to bring the embryos to life needs to be agreed upon mutually.
According to the judge, Sofia must grant her permission for Nick to use any of the embryos in the future. Sofia was granted a permanent injunction, which means this is the final ruling. After filing several lawsuits in the past, it became clear that Nick wanted to bring the embryos to life via surrogate while Sofia did not after their breakup.

More recently, Nick took the case to Louisiana where he believed he would have an edge. Louisiana law acknowledges embryos as a juridical person. Nick’s attempts failed because Nick is not a Louisiana resident. After all of the drama though it looks like the door is closed on this case for good.

Does Sofia Want More Children In The Future?
Sofia is already a mother to 29-year-old Manolo Gonzalez Vergara who she shares with ex-husband Joe Gonzalez. She married actor Joe Manganiello in 2015. The 48-year-old opened up in 2016 about whether or not she wanted to have children with her husband.
“I wouldn’t mind another child,” she told The Edit Magazine. “The idea of doing it all again doesn’t scare me. But, hey, it’s not like it’s going to happen naturally, is it?” she added.
“I became a mother very young—at 20—so I feel like I’ve been a mother my whole life, but I love that,” the ‘AGT’ judge continued. “Now that I’m 43 and my son is 23, it’s funny to see some of my girlfriends raising young kids. In the US, women postpone motherhood, but in Latin America most of my friends have kids my son’s age.”
While the happy couple has not had children, they added a bunch of fur babies to their family over the years. They post a ton of adorable photos with their pups on social media.

Sofia has not yet spoken out publicly about this embryo case coming to an end.
