Nick Cannon is currently recovering from COVID-19 but finally received some good news. He has been re-hired to host the hit show Wild ‘N Out. The 40-year-old was previously fired from Viacom in July after using “hateful speech” and promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories” on his podcast Cannon’s Class.

Nick Cannon Has Been Reinstated As Host Of ‘Wild ‘N Out‘
After initially causing controversy for his comments, Nick put out several apologies that ultimately saved his job on The Masked Singer. “I want to express my gratitude to the Rabbis, community leaders and institutions who reached out to me to help enlighten me, instead of chastising me” he wrote on social media at the time. “I want to assure my Jewish friends, new and old, that this is only the beginning of my education—I am committed to deeper connections, more profound learning and strengthening the bond between our two cultures today and every day going forward.”

Nick’s friend Diddy even offered him a spot on his network Revolt TV after the firing. Nick started conversing with members of the Jewish community including Rabbi Abraham Cooper. He learned more about the culture which eventually led to it being confirmed that Nick will still be hosting a daytime talk show slated to air this fall. The show was initially pushed back because of the scandal. There were reports swirling that Nick also planned on suing Viacom for millions.
Nick was demanding “full ownership of my billion-dollar Wild ‘N Out brand that I created, and they will continue to misuse and destroy without my leadership” He went on to say that he also demands “that the hate and back door bullying cease and while we are at it, now that the truth is out, I demand the Apology!” Nick called this decision to fire him “unwise” and a “divisive decision.”
Why Did The Network Finally Decide To Re-Hire Nick?
Nick launched MTV’s Wild ‘N Out back in 2005. Before the anti-semitism controversy, the show was picked up by the network for three more seasons. “Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms,” an MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight. “Those efforts are of the utmost importance and that’s why we have invited him to rejoin our team.”
Wild ‘N Out will resume production later this year with Nick as the host of its highly-anticipated 16th season. While he is currently recovering from COVID, actress Niecy Nash will be filling in for him on The Masked Singer. The upcoming fifth season of the Fox show is currently in production and Nick will rejoin once he fully recovers.
