‘Masked Dancer’ Judge Paula Abdul Makes Surprise Appearance In Providence Court [VIDEO]

Paula Abdul has previously been a judge on American Idol and now sits on the judging panel of Fox’s new show The Masked Dancer. She took her judging skills to the courtroom in September in one of the biggest surprises of all time. Check out Paula’s court appearance below.
‘Masked Dancer’ Judge Paula Abdul Appeared In Court
Ok, so Paula wasn’t actually in court because she committed a crime. Instead, she earned a guest spot on the show Caught In Providence. Paula is the executive producer of the show. In the show, Judge Frank Caprio is well-known to be very compassionate when dealing with people who have committed real crimes. He has a bit of fun in the courtroom in which everything is caught on camera. In this particular episode, he enlisted Paula’s help.
Johnny Smith had two separate violations for speeding and running a red light. Frank joked that he can’t decide cases on his own so he had Paula fly 3,000 miles to help him. Paula strolled over to the microphone in the courtroom wearing a white blouse and a face mask. Paula got right down to business and asked Johnny if he has a habit of going through lights that are about to turn red. He answered honestly and said that he “really wasn’t paying attention.” Frank joked that Paula should be a prosecutor for getting down to the truth so quickly.

Frank left the decision up to Paula about what action should be taken for these violations. Paula said that she was in a good mood that day and did agree that Johnny deserves some kind of warning for not paying attention while driving. Frank left it all in Johnny’s hands and said that if he could name two Paula Abdul songs, he would let him off with a warning. He named “Straight Up” and “Forever Girl” which led to Paula cheering and giving him a fist bump.
The judge took it to the next level of embarrassment and asked Johnny to perform one dance step that he learned from Paula. He did an obscure slide move which made Paula laugh. The judge also asked Johnny to sing a line from one of Paula’s songs. He confidently sang “Straight Up” into the microphone. This was enough for the case to be dismissed.
Paula Played A Judge On Scripted TV In The Past
Despite having a successful career judging talent competition shows, Paula is actually the queen of the courtroom. She played a judge on the Lifetime show Drop Dead Diva in 2009. Paula gushed about her glamorous character and how she got involved in this guest spot in the interview below.

“It’s nice being the only judge,” Paula’s character hilariously said during the episode. This is an obvious reference to her American Idol days sitting beside Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson.
