9 YO Syrian Girl Cries Singing Emotional Song For Children’s Rights On ‘The Voice Kids’

Ghina Bou Hamdan auditioned for MBC’s The Voice Kids when she was just nine years old. Her tear-filled audition received praise from the coaches on the Arabic show along with the entire world who could not take their eyes off of the young Syrian singer. Take a look at her audition below that will no doubt make you cry.
Ghina Bou Hamdan Shed Tears On ‘The Voice Kids’
Ghina opened up in an interview before her audition and said that “she only sees bloody skies, hears bombs and feels fear every day because of the war in Syria.” She was visibly emotional during her audition for The Voice Kids. She performed the song “Give Us Our Childhood” in 2016 which left the entire world feeling emotional due to its powerful lyrics. According to The DailyMail “The original version of the song was sung by Lebanese singer Remi Bandali and described how miserable the Lebanese children were during The Civil War that took place between 1975 and 1990 and claimed around 120,000 victims.” Ghina began crying while singing and was very visibly emotional by the song lyrics and the audience’s reaction.

Coach Nancy Ajram pushed her red button and turned her chair around for Ghina. She joined her up on stage to sing the rest of the song with her in a heartfelt moment that made Ghina cry even more. The other two judges turned around for her and sang her praises, but she ultimately chose to be on Nancy’s team. She was later eliminated in the next round of the competition but certainly left an everlasting mark on The Voice Kids in her fight for children’s rights in Syria.
Where Is She Now?
Ghina has continued to pursue music after her time on the show. She released a song called “April Flower” that was a hit with her fanbase. She has made a number of concert appearances and appeared at charity events. She has grown into a gorgeous young woman and posts many professionally taken photos on her Instagram each week.
Ghina has continued her advocacy for children’s rights in Syria. She announced that she joined an initiative on YouTube to support recreational activities for sick children in Syria through music.
Most recently on Youtube, the singer posted the following video giving fans a small glimpse of some of her incredible vocals.
Ghina also recently reposted her audition for The Voice Kids on Instagram after the Beirut warehouse explosion that killed at least 190 people. Her caption said “Our thoughts and prayers are with our Lebanese brothers and sisters during these trying times. We pray that God grants you patience and solace. God bless Lebanon and the Lebanese people.”
