12-Year-Old Filipino Dance Duo Discovered By Ellen DeGeneres Perform With Ariana Grande

AC Bonifacio and Lucky Ancheta, two 12-year-olds from Vancouver, Canada got their big break on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2015. The Filipino dancing duo known as Lucky Aces performed a high energy hip hop number that now has over 6.4 million views on YouTube. It even led to an opportunity to dance with their idol Ariana Grande. Check out the show-stopping performance below.

Lucky Aces Got Their Big Break On ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

Ellen first saw Lucky Aces dancing in a video online and knew she had to have them on her show. After they put on a stellar performance, they spoke about their dream to dance for Ariana someday. Ellen knew this already and gave them VIP tickets to meet her at a concert in Vancouver. AC and Lucky were ecstatic when a producer came out to hand them the tickets. They hugged Ellen a bunch of times as the world waited to see what would happen next.

They documented their experience meeting Ariana and she asked them if they wanted to dance with her on stage during the concert. They of course said yes without any hesitation and got to learn the choreography. Lucky Aces had the time of their lives on stage with Ariana and gushed about their experience on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The duo also performed a high-energy dance number to Bruno Mars’s “Uptown Funk.” Lucky got a kiss on the cheek from Ariana that he will never forget.

Where Are The Filipino Dance Duo Now?

After finding success on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lucky Aces competed on a competition show called Dance Kids in The Philippines. They dominated the competition and were declared the winners of a multitude of prizes including a contract with Star Magic.

After winning the show, AC decided to continue her entertainment career in the Philippines while Lucky returned to Canada. She competed on the show Your Face Sounds Familiar and finished in third place. In 2019, AC also co-hosted an online show for World of Dance Philippines. She even launched an acting career after she was cast in the latest season of the CW show Riverdale. The 18-year-old posted a video on Instagram to make the news official for her 3.4 million followers.

AC also has also kept up with posting on her popular YouTube channel after all of these years. She posts dancing videos, vlogs and song covers for her 1.95 million subscribers.

Lucky has also dabbled in music and singing. He posted a song cover recently on his YouTube channel. He also jokingly posted a video declaring that he was quitting dance. But don’t worry, that’s not actually true and his fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
