Rap superstar Will.i.am is not afraid to admit that he’s one of Britney Spears’ biggest fans. Deeming her as an “ideation machine,” he says the future of Spears’ music will be nothing less than earth-shattering.
Will.i.am Reveals Britney Spears’ Musical Ideas are “Fr**kin’ Crazy”
Amid the release of their music collab “Mind Your Business,” Will.i.am talks about working with the princess of pop. According to the rapper, Spears is an idea factory when it comes to music.
“I can tell you from this experience, the fine-tuning of ‘Mind Your Business’, she sent over some ideas, like ‘Hey, put this on it’ and then I’m like ‘Yo Britney, this idea that you just gave right there is actually a new song and this is freaking crazy!’,” he said.
Over the years, the duo have created good music together. Spears and the Black Eyed Peas frontman managed to release “Scream and Shout,” “Big Fat Bass,” and “Work Bitch.” In an interview with Variety, Will.i.am said that “Mind Your Business” isn’t “instant wine.” Rather, it took time of fine-tuning and fermenting before the public got to hear it.
Walking down memory lane, Will.i.am stated that he transformed into Spears’ “ultra-fan” during her “Toxic” era. Becoming in awe of the singer’s musicality, it is thus a dream to collaborate and produce with her.
“No artist that is that prolific, that is an ideation machine, doesn’t have a plethora of stuff,” he said.
Expectant of Spears’ future songs, Will.i.am says that the “Sometimes” hitmaker has an avalanche of music in store. Furthermore, the rapper is “pretty sure” that Spears has unreleased musical work with record producer Pharrell Williams.
He Says He’s Always Available for Her Music
Spilling what he knows about Spears’ upcoming musical endeavors, Will.i.am revealed that the pop star is still very much in love with music. The rapper does recognize Spears’ deep-seated pains and believes that she’ll eventually be incorporating it with her music.
“The moment she goes to a studio and focuses on a record, you know it’s going to be earth shattering. It’s going to be earth shattering because there is not that many people that have been through what she has been through that are going to help folks who are in similar situations,” he said.
The rapper did not clarify if a potential collab album is on the way after “Mind Your Business.” Nonetheless, he says he’s open to working with her again anytime.
“Whatever, however and whenever, Britney, I am there for her,” he said. “She’s a darling to work with, an amazing human being. I’ll always make myself available to her.”
As of writing, Will.i.am is almost done working on his fifth album. Spears, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of her no-nonsense memoir “The Woman In Me.“
