Why We’re So Excited To See Lionel Richie On ‘American Idol’
ABC/Eric Liebowitz A lot of people, (including ABC obviously seeing how much they are paying her), are really excited to have Katy Perry on the reboot of American Idol. I know plenty of folks back home in Texas are all about Luke Bryan. I don’t listen to country music made after 1981 so I had no idea who he was. But the person we are most excited to see on American Idol is legendary singer Lionel Richie.

Why, you ask? Some of you younger folks might not remember Lionel’s string of hits in the 70’s and 80’s. You might know him as Nicole Richie’s dad or that guy your mom sings along with in the car at the top of her lungs. The truth is that many people who are now entering their thirties were probably conceived to Lionel Richie. You guys literally owe him your lives. I mean, look at the video below:
