There’s a Petition to Remove Jenny McCarthy from The Masked Singer
On Monday, a fan on The Masked Singer‘s subreddit shared a link to a Change.org petition asking FOX to remove McCarthy from the show’s panel, “on behalf of the autistic community.” The petition calls McCarthy “a dangerous figure” who “should not be promoted anywhere.”
“McCarthy has dedicated her life to promoting dangerous pseudoscience that has caused harm and abuse to autistic people including many autistic children,” the petition reads, “by her false claims that mercury causes autism, and that deadly chelation therapy, used to remove toxins from the body, is a cure for autism.”
The petition argues that McCarthy has spread misinformation about vaccines which has led many parents to keep their children unvaccinated against a number of diseases such as measles. It adds that FOX is “legitimizing her false and harmful views and anti-vaxxer rhetoric” by employing her on The Masked Singer.
As of this writing, the petition has over 1,200 signatures, with the next goal being 1,500. The petition has been open since August 2019, shortly before the show’s second season began airing on FOX.

Fans Shared Their Thoughts About McCarthy’s Views
Fans on Reddit shared their thoughts about McCarthy in the comments of the thread, with one user pointing out that even though McCarthy hasn’t talked about her views on the show, at least one unmasked celebrity has alluded to them.
When Danny Trejo was unmasked as Raccoon in Season 5, he thanked McCarthy for “the work that you do,” sharing that he has two children with autism.
Other Reddit users simply wrote that they had signed the petition, while another marveled at the idea that anti-vaccine parents would “rather have a dead child than a neurodivergent one,” adding, “As a parent who has buried a child, I cannot wrap my head around this rhetoric and position.”
