What Do Paula Abdul And Randy Jackson Think Of The ‘American Idol’ Reboot?

Back in the mists of time called the early 2000s, there was only one talent competition show: American Idol. After a few years off the air, ABC is bringing it back early next year with judge Katy Perry and original host Ryan Seacrest. Original head judge Simon Cowell isn’t returning, but what about Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.

More than any other show, American Idol launched a lot of careers and a huge television franchise. This was due in no small part to the work of its original judges Simon, Paula, and Randy. But with the return of the show imminent and Katy Perry being the only judge, people began to speculate whether they would bring back Paula and Randy. In a word, no.


In the video below, Paula takes umbrage at the fact that Katy Perry is getting a 25 million dollar payday. This is way more than Paula ever got. She said she would return as a mentor but not a judge. Randy says he’d like to host.
