Nearly 10 months later, The Voice runner up Wendy Moten reveals that she’s still healing from her on stage injuries. This singer is remembered for taking quite the tumble after Team Blake’s first group performance of the season.
Team Blake’s Wendy Moten is still recovering from her The Voice injury in present day. Since recalling the fall in late June, the singer has continued to keep fans up to date with her recovery status. At this time, Moten says she’ll be okay as she continues to work toward recovery.
For those who may not know, the Team Blake member suffered her first injury while competing on The Voice season 21. After tripping over a monitor, she suffered from a broken right elbow, as well as a fractured left wrist, and broke piece of her left hand bone. While reminiscing on the fall, Moten acknowledges that she “couldn’t use my arms at all.”
In present day, Moten is still on the path to recovery. She is currently attending physical therapy three times a week following her post show surgery.
“They put a titanium piece in my elbow to keep my arm together,” she said. “Right now, my elbow is still crooked, and my fingers are crooked, but with the occupational therapy and the physical therapy I’m currently undergoing, I’m hoping everything gets back to normal soon.”
While she’s recovering, she’s currently on tour with country star Vince Gill through the end of August. The singer reportedly met Gill early on in her career, after appearing at the Grand Ole Opry. She later went on to work on her album, I’ve Got You Covered with the country artist.
Wendy Moten Recalls The Fall
Although this singer is remembered for winning second place behind Girl Named Tom last season, she’s also remembered for her on stage tumble. In November 2021, this singer fell on stage while exiting after a live performance. Fans were unsure what happened as they witnessed it on TV. Even The Voice host Carson Daly was at a loss of words.
Since this injury made headlines, Moten has explained what actually happened on stage. The singer was so focused on her performance that she tripped over a monitor during her departure. She knew that her elbow was broken as soon as she landed, even though she’s never broken a bone.
Even though Moten sustained injuries, she appeared at the end of the show to say she was okay, despite the giant cast on her arm. The singer agreed to give a statement on live TV, since her family was not in attendance. Reportedly Wendy was rushed to the hospital after the show, skipping the rehearsal for her Top 10 performance.
