Pop star Olivia Rodrigo has just solidified Jimmy Kimmel’s status as a cool dad. The “Vampire” singer recently surprised the late night host’s kids with an adorable carpool karaoke.

Olivia Rodrigo Surprises Jimmy Kimmel’s Kids on Drive to School

During a taped segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rodrigo “hitched a ride” with Kimmel, his wife Molly McNearney and their two kids, Jane and Billy. The family was on their way to the kids school. In the clip, Jane and Billy can be seen looking bored in the back seat, whining over how uninteresting school is.

“Oh, there’s a hitchhiker over there, should we pick her up?” Kimmel asked.

Rodrigo then came into frame, in a lilac sweater and black shorts with her thumb out. Soon after seeing her, Jane and Billy were astonished.

“Oh my God Billy, it’s Olivia Rodrigo,” she said.

After greeting the kids, Rodrigo sat with them in the backseat. Rodrigo then successfully broke the ice, asking Jane about her favorite Olivia Rodrigo song. Kimmel’s daughter responded “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl.”

“That’s one of my favorites too, that’s so sweet, thank you for saying that,” Rodrigo said.

When asked by his mom, Billy then stated his favorite song from Rodrigo—”Get Him Back.” The three then sang Jane and Billy’s song choices on the car stereo. When they arrived at school, the “Deja Vu” singer hugged the siblings goodbye.

“Thank you guys, I feel so loved!” she said.

During her guest appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host expressed gratitude to the singer for “giving my kids a real thrill.” Kimmel then explained that his kids listen to Rodrigo’s tracks every day in the car.

He Points Out the Pop Princess’ Chipped Tooth

In the same guest appearance, Kimmel jokingly stated one flaw about pop singer. Showing off the back of her sophomore album GUTS, the host pointed to the close-up photo of Rodrigo’s mouth.

“On the back you’ve got your mouth, and a little chip in your tooth there also,” he said. “You’re not perfect after all, it turns out,” Kimmel said. “How did you get that?”

While this comment apparently caused a slightly awkward atmosphere, Kimmel’s remark could simply be a reference to Rodrigo’s song “All-American B*tch.” In the song, the pop star is describing herself as a “perfect all-American b*tch.” Despite the comment, Rodrigo nonetheless took it lightly.

“You know, Jimmy, I actually wasn’t aware that I had a chip in my tooth until this very moment,” she responded. “So new insecurity unlocked, thank you so much.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Rodrigo revealed that some of her Guts tracks were originally written with more explicit lyrics. According to the singer, she inserts swear words in her lyrics when she thinks it’s “tasteful and necessary.”

“Sometimes I try to tone it down,” she said. “There were a few songs on the album where I was swearing all over them, and I had to pare them back.”
