The Voice Recap: Semifinal Eliminations
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s votes are in and it’s time for The Voice finals, but that means we have to cut the top eight semifinalists in half, which is always the hardest part. It was a night of celebration, goodbyes, and performances from Panic At The Disco, Kane Brown and The Voice’s own Blake Shelton.
The first contestant to be announced as a finalist was Team Blake’s Spensha Baker. Next was Team Kelly’s Brynn Cartelli, and last to be guaranteed a spot was Team Blake’s, Kyla Jade.
The final five contestants were Jackie Foster, Rayshun LaMarr, Pryor Baird, Kaleb Lee and Britton Buchanan. The Voice host Carson Daley named Pryor, Kaleb, and Britton to be the three that had the opportunity to perform and be saved. This meant it was the end of The Voice journey for both Jackie and Rayshun.

Pryor Baird (Team Blake)
Singing his heart out to Soulshine, his coach Blake told him that he’s shocked to see him in the bottom and it just goes to show that anything can happen on this show. He urges America to vote but says that no matter what he’ll be calling him tomorrow to either rehearse or figure out the next steps.

Kaleb Lee (Team Kelly)
Performing to Simple Man, his coach Kelly says that she’s so excited for Kaleb’s future in music because people are genuinely excited about him. She says despite the outcome, he will be successful because the defining moment is what you do after the show.

Britton Buchanan (Team Alicia)
After Britton’s performance of Dancing on My Own, his coach Alicia was not the only coach to encourage viewers to vote. Adam Levine also felt the push to urge America to vote for Britton and it seems as though America listened because he was soon after voted to be the last finalist to be added to next week’s show.
So there you have it, your top four contestants: Spensha, Kyla, Brynn, and Britton. What was the biggest surprise of last night’s show? Let us know in the comments!
