Video: Kelly Clarkson Addresses ‘The Voice’ Fan Controversy
The Voice amped things up this season with the addition of The Comeback Stage. However, the new phase of the competition has left fans feeling unsure about the ‘second chance’ opportunity.
After weeks of training with Voice coach Kelsea Ballerini, contestant Lynnea Moorer reigned as victor for The Comeback Stage. Viewers looked on as Moorer owned the competition and earned her title as the comeback queen. This victory secured a spot on Team Kelly for the 19-year-old songstress.
On Monday evening, Moorer sang her heart out with her rendition of Consequences by Camilla Cabello. Dressed in an evergreen two piece with looks to kill, Lynnea owned that stage.
Coach Kelly Clarkson finally addressed the elephant in the room…The Comeback Stage. The pop-queen essentially plead her case for fans to push Moorer along in the competition. Singing her praises to the young singer Clarkson gushed, “I know the Comeback thing is iffy with people…but here’s the thing, I’m from a competition and I would’ve chosen anything for any moment, any opportunity and any door. And I’m so proud that you’re taking this opportunity and making each moment count and that’s what counts, Lynnea, as a person and also as an artist,” the original American Idol continued, “and I’m just super proud because I feel like you represent something different on this show, especially this season.”
Unfortunately for Moorer, Clarkson’s cries went unheard and fans immediately sent backlash towards the coach.
Please let this be the last year for the comeback artist. Ugh #thevoice #terrible #noduespaid
