VIDEO: Jenny McCarthy Thought Her Husband Might Be on ‘The Masked Singer’

The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon and judges Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke all appeared on the purple carpet last night for the premiere of The Masked Singer! And their revealing interviews made us even more excited for the new show.
Let’s see what they had to say:
We’ve already seen multiple contestants in their costumes already in previews for The Masked Singer. But now, the judges have us thinking! At one point, Jenny McCarthy even asks if it could be Barack Obama in one of the costumes?! What kind of talent are they pulling here? Not even Nick Cannon knew who was behind the masks. He said, “Playing along made it a good time for me.”
Then, Jenny McCarthy said, “The actresses that debuted their singing voices are really going to shock people.” Could that be a hint at the lion’s true identity? The promos have had the judges guessing she’s a dancer and a singer, which make me think those are both probably diversions. If she is an actress, that would be both shocking to the audience and affirming of Jenny’s comments.
Ken Jeong then admitted that he was convinced to join the show by his mom! She sent him videos from the Korean version of the show and he was “hooked.” I love the energy Ken brings to the panel! And his past experience as a guest judge on America’s Got Talent won’t hurt either. Robin Thicke said that the judges were not always so successful in their guessing.
“Half of the time, we were wrong and had no idea. And half of the time, (with the Family Feud-type figuring it out together) we got a few right.”
Jenny McCarthy goes on to reveal that she thought her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, might be one of the 12 concealed contestants!
“Every time that I would call him in between our breaks, he would answer. But any time this particular character was on stage, he wouldn’t answer. So I was like, ‘Okay, is it him?'”
That would be a crazy twist for sure! But we won’t know until the show debuts in January. Each week, one masked singer will be revealed. The Masked Singer premieres on Thursday, January 3rd on FOX!
