Ariana Grande’s “Fantasize” Leaker Reportedly Fined $10,000
For those who may not know, “Fantasize” is an unreleased Ariana Grande demo. Since it was leaked, the singer has been open, explaining that it wasn’t for any album. The title, “Fantasize” is only a fanmade placeholder for the demo, as it doesn’t have any official title. As per Grande, she wrote the song for a comedy sketch about a girl group.
After the song went viral on TikTok, a person under the name Adriana Venti uploaded it on Spotify without permission. The Spotify leak has earned over 70,000 streams earlier this month and even reached the Philippines’ Spotify Daily Top Songs before it was taken down.
Now, Adriana Venti came out on X and revealed that they’ve allegedly been fined $10,000 as punishment for the leak.
“Hello. As you all know I went to court yesterday. It did not go very well, they pulled up my tweets.. the money I made from the songs.. and other information.. but as they say, play stupid games, win stupid prizes!! Well, I have to pay (sic) them $10K and have to serve 48+ hours of [community service],” they wrote.
Upon learning about the leak, Grande has requested fans to stop spreading the demo across streaming platforms. She also left a comment on a TikTok clip, saying that the situation has been “disheartening” as she was supposed to “come back to this hook and use eventually” on a separate leaked track.
Fans Divided Over the Issue
Since Adriana Venti posted about her situation, numerous fans came to comment on the issue. Apparently, X users differ in opinions regarding the punishment, with some of them supporting the music leaker and wishing them well.
“Wishing all the best for you Adriana. Things may be looking bad right now but at the end things are going to be good :),” one user replied.
Meanwhile, others believe Adriana Venti deserved to be fined. One user replied on her post, saying that “she obviously did something she shouldn’t have.”
“No one is gonna feel bad for you. leaking music is already illegal, adding money to that just makes it even worse. y’all are so d*mb, it’s insane,” one person wrote.
“You’re lucky you only got a fine of 10k and CS. you deserve it because you made money off of work which is not your own,” another user commented.
While many Ariana Grande fans have been talking about the issue, it’s not yet clear whether the issue is real. Nonetheless, many fans agree that the leaker must be punished for releasing music which is not their own.
