The Masked Singer alum Tori Kelly has released her first raw singing video after her “scary” ICU rush. The “Paper Hearts” singer took the time to film an acoustic version of her new song “Cut.”
Tori Kelly Impresses in Acoustic Rendition of Her Original Song “Cut”
After dropping the official music video of “Cut,” Kelly has decided to give fans another treat of the song. Wearing an ombre-colored fitted long sleeves and a fluffy hat, Kelly recorded the new track while playing her acoustic guitar.
“You don’t want a cut if it’s not with me / You ain’t get this love from nobody else / I’m the only one you know who take control I know you know,” she sings.
This cover is massively different from its original version. Kelly’s acoustic rendition gives a calmer and softer vibe to “Cut,” which almost makes two versions completely distinct from each other.
Fans totally in love with the acoustic one, telling Kelly in the comments to make the same version for the whole EP. Luckily though, it seems that the “Dear No One” singer is open to doing so.
“Which 1 should i do next?” she wrote in the caption.
After collapsing and getting treatment for blood clots, Kelly is fortunately looking healthy, as seen in the video. According to one of her Instagram posts, she “can’t wait to perform again” and give fans a taste of what she’s worked on. Now, the singer is gearing up for her Take Control Tour, set to kick off this September.
She Says Things Still Need to be Uncovered with Her Health
The Grammy-winning singer has previously shared an update to fans regarding her scary collapse. On her social media, she uploaded a handwritten letter, revealing that she’s nursing an “unexpected” medical condition.
“Hi friends … as you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges,” the note began. “It’s been a scary few days but i can feel your prayers & can’t stop thinking about you.”
Despite the alarming circumstances, Kelly clarified that her condition has already improved. However, the singer can’t be complacent at all.
“I’m feeling stronger now & hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover,” she wrote.
Nonetheless, she stated that she acknowledges that her “health must come first.”
“Until i see you again, i still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place i’ve been in the last few years,” she wrote.
